Most projects involving period homes usually include an extension and full renovation to complement the new additions. This home however was impressively renovated only a few years ago – but it just wasn’t large enough to accommodate the owners’ growing family. Rather than move from this exclusive Moonee Ponds location, the owners instead decided on a second-storey extension. An incredible amount of energy went into the planning phase of the project as we needed to retain the integrity of the previous renovations. We also had to construct the upstairs extension while imposing minimal impact on the family still living downstairs. The meticulous planning paid off. Construction was completed in only four months with zero variations from the original plans.
